Why you Really don’t need Self-improvement Books To Improve.

It’s Not A Magical Door.

You shouldn’t care about all that anyway?

I did. Yes, I did care about the self development of myself. I remember the first self help book that came into my lap, and me feeling like a champion already. But, all that spirit went away as soon as I closed that book.

So I went to the library and got 6 more. It’s advices ranged from public speaking that I never used to managing a business that I didn’t have. So I read them. I felt the rush. I closed them. The rush went away with it. And the cycle began again.

It’s when I saw an YouTube comment (of all the places) that I realized something. It said;

“You ain’t gonna do anything unless you do it.”

At first it sounded like a good crock of soup with bad taste, but now that I realise it, that comment had some truth to it.

Self Development Books are not a magical door that takes you to your fantastical success on a flying carpet.

I had to change. And the good news is that you can too. And all it needs is two things.

Take action.

Do something. Just about anything. If something is coming to mind that needs to be done and your not doing it, then always remember the words of Shia LaBeouf. “Just Do It.”

Take responsibility for it.

Ben Parker’s line told to Peter always comes to mind.

With great power comes great responsibility.

Not partly -that doesn’t exist, but full responsibility. 100%. Treat yourself like you would if you had a world to save. Be the hero you look up to. Taking responsibility means you turning into a matured being. It means you taking back the control of your life.

Being responsible and taking actions responsibly are the start that we all deserve. So, take out that (metaphorical) cape and save yourself.

Now, get to work.
